Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, has frequently expressed his desire to purchase more Japanese developers and improve Xbox's performance in Japan. Despite an increase in major Japanese games for Xbox in recent years, Microsoft's consoles still lack a substantial presence.
Enter Mena Sato Kato, the former Vice President of Mobile Business at Sony Interactive Entertainment who spent eight years with Sony. Now she has transitioned to the Xbox team in Japan as the Director for Partnerships. Her LinkedIn profile revealed she'll be "leading partnerships for Japanese publishers at Xbox".
Sato Kato hinted at her attendance at the upcoming huge gaming expo, the Tokyo Game Show, in her new role, stating "I hope to see many of you at TGS".
Here's hoping that Mena Sato Kato's involvement will result in an influx of games for Xbox, and we wish her the best of luck.
