THQ Nordic has revealed a new game, The Eternal Life of Goldman, presented as part of their showcase. This game is a hand-drawn two-dimensional side-scroller that stands out among others showcased. Audiences will appreciate the creative efforts of Weappy Studio, known for developing This Is the Police and its sequel.

The Eternal Life of Goldman was introduced with an eye-catching trailer, highlighting its hand-drawn animations and engaging gameplay. The game’s narrative begins with a gripping cutscene where a simian creature's escape from a burning forest fails, transitioning smoothly to the gameplay. The main character is an elderly man with an intriguing mix of characteristics—combining the speed of Sonic the Hedgehog with the resourcefulness of Scrooge McDuck. The character uses a cane for both combat and platforming elements.

The cane boasts several functions, including defeating adversaries like a massive octopus and interacting with objects to create platforms. Despite being fun to play and having a unique protagonist, The Eternal Life of Goldman stands out significantly in terms of its visual appeal. The game’s world is a blend of challenging environments, featuring spike-filled caves, dangerous dungeons, and industrial city landscapes. The enemy design is notably dark and creative.

The soundtrack of The Eternal Life of Goldman is equally impressive, featuring a blend of violin and strong percussive beats, promising an engaging auditory experience. However, no release date has been confirmed yet. Eager fans can already add the game to their wishlist on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
